Bummed

So, my chat at Fallen Angel Review Chatters group wasn't so great. I was there for four hours and only two people even bothered to respond. Felt like I was talking to myself.

Oh well, I went through with it.

I need to get back to writing soon. I took a couple days off from it, but I really need to get back in the swing of things. I don't know why I get so worked up over deadlines. It's not like I really have any at the moment...well, except for a short story for Infernal Dreams I've started plotting.

I think it's because I have this mindset: if I write more, I'll get more exposure, more sales, more money, more fans. Therefore, I must write fast and get as many books out there as I can. Some authors seem to publish half a dozen books a year.

I'm beginning to understand I can't do that. I have to do this at my own pace, whether it'll be two months, or two years. I'll finish my next series. I know it.

But will people forget about me in that time? It's not like a lot of people are scrambling to buy my books. Most people don't even know I write books, or care, or even know I exist. But those that do...will they forget me in the years it'll take me to write another story?

Yeah, bummed is an understatement.

It's a constant maintenance program to stay in the minds of readers.

I don't do chats primarily because the system kicks me off so often. I don't know if it's because I'm on satellite or just bad luck.

You have the right idea, Rose. We all arrive in our own time.

Hi Rose Marie, I love to join the chats with my favorite authors but if they are having their chats on Tuesdays thru Fridays I am unable to attend them because of my work schedule. If I have time and the chats are on the weekends and Monday and if I am not busy cleaning my house then I try to make it to them. Wished I could have been there to help support you. I always try to keep up with what my favorite authors are coming out with.Hope your next chat is better.
